I'm preparing to relocate to Raleigh and need to find a good provider for cable, internet, and a landline phone. Currently, we are relocating to the northeastern side of the city about 10 miles from Wake Forest. I know that Comcast is not available for my location.

Are there any providers that I should stay away from or that anyone might recommend?

According to various posts in this forum, you should stay away from Time Warner Cable, AT&T, Embarq, Frontier, Verizon, Sprint, Dish Network and DirecTV. Anything else should be fine.

Pretty good poke at the choices.

I find TWC very reliable. Only issue is the DVR software, and bugs re being addressed over time.

I'm moving over there myself, and of course been making phone calls to the various providers to see what they offer. So far, At&t is much more expensive than Time warner. Haven't looking into dish because we are renting for now, and can't add a dish in. Soooo that is my only input I can add.
