Ok I know this is not really a question about relocation or such but I need help. I want to get into the IT field but you need at least an A+ cart to even get looked at. So here is my Question: Where is the best place to get educated and to take the exam? Any help would be great. Tank you, James
There are several IT schools around here that can accomodate that, but A+ is basically like a high school diploma in that field. You need alot of education and experience to compete here because we are saturated with IT professionals. Great field if you can open the door to it though!
There are a lot of possibilities, depending on what you want to do. IT is a "big" industry, covering quite a few different disciplines. It's all dependent on what you want to be doing (application programming/database work/security/hardware/networking): there are literally dozens of areas, each with their own specialties and certificates.
It might actually be worth spending a little time on Monster.com (or careerbuilder or thingamajob or any of the others), reading some of the job descriptions of jobs that are in demand to get an idea of what you'd see yourself doing, and what they require for you to do that job.
I think New Horizon has a career center. New Horizon is a company that offers training and certifications in IT. I attended training in their office last month, and I noticed that they have a new program for people who want to jump start their career in IT.
It might be worthwhile for you to call them. They should point you to the right direction.

I have taken some classes and I feel that I want to do small to mediums sized networks right now. I am willing to start off low as an application installer and move up. I just want to get my foot in the door.
