I need to get a pie for a co-worker's birthday as he doesn't like cake. Any suggestions for where to get a good (preferably French Silk) pie? Prefer some place between Holly Springs and Crabtree for convenience.

A lot of people love the pies at Pie Bird. Personally I don't think they're that great but apparently I'm in the minority. Scratch makes some amazing pies but they're in Durham so out of your location range. Hayes Barton Cafe also makes some amazing pies and as long as you call them a week ahead of time they can make you a whole pie.

I wasn't wowed by Piebird either. I enjoy the chocolate cream pie at D&S cafeteria in Cary near the Burlington store. I think they sell whole pies and cakes. Good luck in your quest!

K&W Cafeteria at Cameron Village has really good pies, as well.
I think McCalls (Garner) sells whole pies. Their banana pudding is really good!

Blue Moon Bakery in Cary. Have liked their desserts and have seen them recommended on other threads.
French Silk is listed!
