Ooooh I love the blue-tailed skinks (er actually know them by the name Five-Lined Skink)! Aren't they so pretty? We get them out on the patio and the cats go nuts looking at them through the sliding door. We had one that had lost a tail and we sort of watched it grow a new one over time. They are a very neat little critter.
Is it common for their tails to fork when growing back out?
We've got several near our house that have forked tails... that make a nice "Y" shape coming from their tail... it forks and has two 1" pieces.
Anyone know of a live trap that will catch them? I want them out of my garage....too much lizard leave behinds for me. The only thing I've found that works is glue pads and I'd prefer not to use them.
One jumped in my car one day and I could not find it. I looked all over and finally gave up, hoping it jumped out. A couple of days later I am driving down the road and who should pop his head up on my dashboard!?! It was quite an experience, I pulled over when I could and shooed my visitor out.

I don't think he claimed to be a good neighbor. That's State Farm.
