I was wondering how raleigh, NC is? I have 3 kids ages 3,2, and 6 weeks and they are mixed so is this a good area to raise children? I heard its really pretty out that way. But please let me know what spots are the best in raleigh, to rent a house also, how are the jobs out their?

One word....."BORING"!!!!!!!!!!

Charlotte is the Queen Jewel of North Carolina...moved from Raleigh to Charlotte 15 years ago...and would NEVER go back...not even for retirement...so slow and backwards...

Yes, it's SO boring in fact tht 66 people per day move into Wake county alone for the gorgeous weather, the numerous parks, good economy, affordable housing, and laid back, friendly people. Some people LIKE boring and a nice quiet life. It's not for everyone but the Triangle IS exactly what some people are looking for in lifestyle. Boring to some is a peaceful quality life to others.

Calling Raleigh BORING is like calling Charlotte REDNECK. Both are gross generalizations and without anything further to support your assertation, its simply comes across as bashing. Opinions are fine, however if you can't back them up it'd be better if you'd just keep quiet.

It's a little strange that 4 of Queen City Lover's last five posts call Raleigh boring.

I think the first thing to learn about this area is that it is made up of more than just Raleigh - it's "The Triangle". Most metropolitan areas have just one major city that anchors the area with suburbs that spoke out from that center. But here in the Triangle, we have Raleigh and Durham in the center, with Chapel Hill and Cary rounding up the main towns. Then there are smaller towns like Clayton, Wake Forest, Morrisville, and others. So if you're considering moving here (and looking for a job here!), you'll need to become familiar with this notion. If you just look at Raleigh, you're leaving out a huge section of The Triangle.

Raleigh is quite a bit different now than it was 15 years ago. Backwards? Yeah, Right.

Exactly but that was YOUR experience. That doesn't mean it is or will be everyone else's.
