Our employer is switching to Cigna. Opinions of their
PPO/HSA options/ We've been very pleased with BCBS-HSA!

We have a PPO with Cigna and have been perfectly happy with it. We had BCBS before that. zDIdn't really notice much of a difference, TBH.

Other than what providers are in/out of network with your payer, most services are specifically carved out by your employer and/or group.

I'm sure others can chime in on customer service and how hard/easy it is for your MD to get claims/approvals to go through.

We're doing the opposite...going from Cigna to BCBS this year through my DH's employer.
I can't really think of any problems we've had with them when it came to customer service and claims. Phone help has always gone well. They may not always give the answers I'm hoping for, but they are always patient and answer all of my questions. Mostly we've had trouble finding an in-network dentist in our area that is worth going back to. The dental we have is pretty bad.

I will second the dental - I haven't noticed a lot of difference between BCBS and Cigna (my copays have increased, but I imagine the same is happening with BCBS) - but the dental - finding an in-network dentist in this area is difficult. I've heard (from various dental offices) that the reimbursement offered by Cigna isn't reasonable, so they won't sign with them (that is second-hand!!!).

But overall, so far - it's been as OK as health insurance can be!
