Thanksgiving Event

Durham Rescue Mission has a Thanksgiving Day event, I've done it several years and it was a wonderful event for the community.

You can help cook the meal, serve it, help with clothing donations and they also have games and things set up for the children you can help with.

There have been threads on this in previous years, if you search the forum--one thing I remember is that Thanksgiving is an extremely popular time for people to do a "one time" volunteer and a lot of the places have waiting lists for volunteers that day, and would prefer that people spread out their volunteering throughout the rest of the year, when they have a hard time getting people.
