I'm thinking about changing from TWC to Centurylink Prism TV and internet. Does anyone in the Holly Springs area have any opinions about that? Is it equivalent? Does the service go out all the time? Is the price better after the initial cost?

It would be great to hear from some people who have had both and can compare them.

Thanks,
John

I didn't realize it was being offered yet - last I saw, they were as close as F-V.

Got a link to HS availability?

I've been getting mailers about it being available for about 8 months now. Every time I consider it then I decide to wait a little longer until I hear a report.

I have been getting mailers for about a year, however there is no availability when I checked. I am not sure why they are mailing me.

Should be available depending on where you are. We are in Bridgewater and it is available there. The biggest problem is we can only do 2 HD streams per house. That is a problem for us as we have 5 TVs. If you don't have many TVs, probably not a big deal. Although after pricing it out and paying per TV, internet etc..., it was actually just as cheap for TWC. I know shocker there.

They have a store down in Fuquay too where you can go and demo it if you want.

We switched this past may(we live by the walmart on 55). I wish I didn't. The internet can be slow, and the cable does go out. We've had to call and complain a couple of times. It's cheaper($74 a month) but if I had the choice I would stay with Time Warner.

We're in the same area and that's what I was afraid of. TWC is crazy expensive but at least it usually works. It's a shame there are no viable inexpensive options.

We're in Oakhall and swiched over to Century Link Prism for TV and Inernet about 5 weeks ago. A couple of nuisance matters (turning off our computers results in having to reestablish the network connection, and on 2 of the 3 TV's (all HD), sometimes the audio will cut out for a few seconds), but happy with the Internet speed (I find it faster than TWC) and the cost savings. For us it's about $65 a month.

I am beginning to think they are either desperate for customers or have a huge budget for marketing. I am in Holly Springs and have received a large full color mailer from them at LEAST twice a week for months now. I am sure they get a bulk mail rate but the costs have to be adding up.

We had a guy show up in the yard a couple of weeks ago, pushing really hard and offering all kinds of perks. Smacked of desperation, and when I started poking around on the tubes I found out why. Very few people have anything good to say about it. I'm getting mailers every other day as well, which reinforces the desperation angle.
