My sister is thinking of taking a job in Fayetteville, and is looking for a family-centered suburban type neighborhood with sidewalks and a community feel but not a teeny lot,

I live in Morrisville And would love her to be closer to me but ideal is that she is happy where she is. Where would you folks recommend? Is F-V too rural? Is Fayetteville ok? I've heard negative things (too blue collar, depressed area, etc.) but I don't know bc I haven't been there. Pinehurst? Lulling ton? Suggestions?

If it matters, she wants a 3/2.5 with a good sized bonus room, around 2400sf or so, below $300k..

If she doesn't want to live in Fayetteville maybe she could look into Sanford.

One of my parents worked at Ft. Bragg and one worked in RTP...and they chose Sanford. Not a bad town and equidistant between the two.

I really like Fuquay. We lived down there for 6 years. It has a very small town feel and it's very community oriented. It has a community center and plenty of shopping. You can find larger lots there, although it is becoming harder to find.

Agreed. It is very family-oriented, but I don't think there are sidewalks in the developments.

Some have them and some (probably most) don't.

Seems like a huge haul from Sanford to Ft. Bragg - seems there are no roads between the two. Would seem Johnston Co. - i.e Benson/Smithfield area might be better.
