My husband is an avid sportsman and wants to get into shooting again. He found a couple places in Fuquay and Apex, but would love a closer place to Wake Forest. Any ideas?

Search for gun ranges? Join a private hunt club? They might have shooting facilities on the grounds.

My wife did a "Women on Target" outing with her womens club a few times at Sir Walter Raleigh in Creedmoor. It's private but she was going to ask the person who is a member what are some options.

Side note: first time my wife shot a gun, had special fun with the AR-15 What do we know about firearms, we're from Jersey

The only places are private, and have waiting lists and huge annual dues. The public ranges are all south of Raleigh, Holly Springs, Fuquay, Goldsboro, etc.

Got this second hand.......

There is a place to shoot in Kittrell that is archery and trap. Google Charlie Brown. He owns it and is quite a good trap shooter.

You can also go to NSSF's web site for places to shoot. NRA has something like that too.

Thats all I rcvd.

Try these websites: Where To Shoot | Find Shooting Ranges Near You or NSSF | Shooting Ranges

There aren't as many public access shooting clubs in the area, most tend to be private/membership oriented. Not sure about what's close to Wake Forest. Try these websites: Where To Shoot | Find Shooting Ranges Near You or NSSF | Shooting Ranges

The closest range to Wake Forest is Eagle One behind the Wal-Mart on Wake Forest Road, 2nd closest is the Wake County Firearms and Training Center but that facility has weird hours. Most other places are at least a 45 minute drive, are expensive or have long waiting lists.
