FYI - I wrote on Publix's facebook asking for a roundabout date and they wouldn't give it to me, they only said late 2014. So I'm guessing January.

Considering that WalMart is the #1 grocer in the US, I would say a lot of people buy food there.

Another reason to love Publix: I Have a Great Publix Story - Polk Moms

Full Disclosure: I grew up in Lakeland (Polk County), where Publix got its start and where it maintains its corporate HQ. If I knew then what I know now... I would have gone to work for them at 16, put my 30 years in, and would be looking forward to retirement next year with a full pension.

Very cool story! I have always heard that both Wegman's and Publix are good family supermarkets to work for.

So, for all the Publix crazy people out there, I got a little brochure extolling their virtue in the mail today in association with the Cary store. Nothing about an opening date though.

Cary store should be opening in August, they're our customer. They're opening one in Myrtle Beach also and I'm pretty sure they'll be opening more up here.

Oh my! My oldest DD and her hubby that are moving here next week are leaving Lakeland to come to me HERE!
They both love their jobs and I am afraid they will regret leaving them. SOn in law works at corporate and my DD works at the Publix Bank. They were excited to hear that Publix will be in NC soon, but now they will only be shoppers I hope they don't regret leaving their nice jobs.
