I don't see the absence of a loyalty card as that big a deal - perhaps a tiny added convenience but not much more.
Not even that much of a convenience. Usually if I've gone to a grocery store and don't have that store's loyalty card, the cashier just has one at the register and uses that to give me the discounts.
Sounds like the intersection of Harrison and Maynard. Harris Teeter, Aldi's, and the former Food Lion becoming the Walmart supermarket thing. They just need to knock down the strip mall on the 4th corner and put in a Kroger lol.
I am surprised no one has mentioned carry out service. It is like pulling teeth up here to get someone to carry out your groceries. It is a given at Publix.
No wonder their prices are higher! That's like getting full service at a gas station - the gas always costs more!

The HT by me has changed their approach on this. A couple of years ago, you almost had to beat them with a stick to stop them from pushing your cart to your car for you. Now they just politely ask "Do you need any assistance with your groceries?" Not a lot of people take advantage of it - mostly older shoppers or moms with very young kids.

When I was growing up in Chicago & we'd shop at "the Jewel" you were always expected to tip the bagger who brought your groceries to the car...
I rather liked Jewel. It wasn't so huge as Dominick's.
True, or Cub Foods...
