I am considering LASIK surgery. Does anyone here have had the procedure done? Any advice as to how to go about researching providers, procedures, etc will be most welcome. I also appreciate recommendations on reliable LASIK surgeons in the Triangle area.

Dean Dornic if you're in Cary.
I'm going to have him do mine next year. I've got a friend who had hers done with him a few years ago. She's still very satisfied.
I've met with him for my consult. I like him.

Another vote for Dean Dornic. He did my LASIK in 2009, and the whole process went very smoothly. Dr. Dornic was both nice and extremely professional, and his entire office staff was great.
Like meh, I was referred to Dr. Dornic by a friend who was very satisfied with her LASIK experience.
Thank you, Meh and lb. I intend to make an appointment with Dr. Dornic for an initial consult.
Good luck Meh, on your surgery. Let me know how it proceeded.
I had mine done at Travers, as did my brother and we are both very happy with the results. I would do it again in a heartbeat and probably pay twice as much if I had to. It's one of the best things I've ever done and worth every penny.
We both agree it's the best thing we ever did for ourselves. She was nearly legally blind without corrective lenses and mine wasn't that bad, but with laser surgery the entire world is more crisp and clear.
The machine does most of the work and I think this is one of those fields where the success rate is quite high, so I'm sure any of the decent places or docs people mentioned here in this thread would do fine.
