Any ideas where to buy a receipe box locally? ...for 3x5 receipe cards. It is for my BF's mother (who has been asking for it) so I'm looking for something a little nicer than just heavy cardboard.

I've looked in the normal big box stores, like Walmart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, Michael's, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Pier One Imports. Also looked at A Southern Season in CH, thinking they'd have something nice. Nope.

Ideas appreciated!!

Try Williams-Sonoma (Personalized Recipe Gift Set with Embosser | Williams-Sonoma) - not sure if they might have it in the Crabtree store or not.

Amazon also has something similar - RSVP Bamboo Recipe Box: Amazon.com: Kitchen & Dining

You could also give Sur La Table in Southpoint a shot

If you miss it for Christmas, I can tell you they are at pretty much every estate sale I go to!

If you're crafty at all they sell unfinished wood ones in the front area of AC Moore. I have also seen them sometimes at places like Tuesday Morning. Or you could always check out etsy!

The Hallmark store has recipe boxes, but most of them are the heavy cardboard, but still very nice overall.

There are some pretty ones on Etsy: Recipe boxes

They may not be local, but at least they're by individual artists.

I love Etsy!

If there are any local craft fairs still going on, you can usually find them there.

I've also seen some in antique shops.

If durham isn't too far out of your way, try Parker and Otis , Morgan Imports and in Brightleaf Square there's an antique shop with Kennedy in the name. If that still doesn't work, try Cedar Creek Gallery in Creedmore.
