Yes but you cannot get CURRENT HBO or Showtime programs are available without a cable or satellite subscription. We have a smart tv, but we still need TWC or DirectTV, damn it.

Yeah I'm getting a bit more concerned about this. I checked and I can watch live TV OTA still, but my last OTA capable DVR died a few months back and all the replacements are Satellite only. It will feel like 2003 again if we have to watch CBS live.

And guess what? NBC is having the same type of negotiation with TWC, with the result likely to be a dark screen on Channel 17 on Jan 1, 2013.

Surprise!

Program Alert: Capitol Broadcasting Co. has reached a new agreement with DirecTV to keep stations WRAL and Fox 50 on local satellite systems.
All you satellite subscribers can now watch reports of averting the fiscal cliff on WRAL right after they tell you about the 1st baby born in 2013. It truly is a glorious new year.

I saw their tweets about it last night. It was actually later than I figured it would go. As a Directv customer I'm glad it was worked out.

I really wish they'd stop playing these negotiations out in front of their customers and making consumers pawns in their battles.
