Not yet. We're about half and half now. Sadly last week we lost the last one of the original 1960 homebuyers. She went to live with one of her kids. We lost "Gladys Kravitz" a few years ago, but I hear she's keeping order at the assisted living joint
Awww. She's stayed true to her calling.
Whereabouts are you located again?

I'm seeing more and more people with tags from out of state for months on end. More than when I first moved here. It's honestly beyond me why people move here from states like Ny and NJ with sky high auto insurance rates and don't change over - the savings more than makes up for the property tax on the car. Plus when you see people lving in $600K houses and they don't change to avoid the tax it really leaves you scratching your head.
I still don't get the police thing though. NY, NJ and many other states have not only front license plates but registration stickers in the front windshields. And if that's what the police have time to be doing, I guess we should count our blessings that we live in such a safe area. I mean the idea that the police are writing down plates, addresses and dates and then going back out 90 days later to check on these is more than a little silly. Especially when you consider there's no way of knowing if someone is here visiting or renting and going back where they came from.
Not sure about others but my insurance carrier gives me an out of state card and an in-state card. My rates are subject to where the car is located, not where it is titled.
Not a concern of mine, but I see a lot of cars in our area with plates from other states.
It might sound silly, but I strongly dislike the design of NC plates and I was holding onto our MD one for as long as I could. Also our tag was good for another year but MD doesn't do refunds. I didn't back into the driveway though.
