Does anyone know what they are building on 15/501 in Chapel Hill? If you are heading towards Pittsboro its on your left right around the Orange Co/Chatham Co line...

Isn't that the Obey Creek mixed use development?

Nope. Walmart. Obey Creek is north of the site.

Yep, Chapel Hill-Carrboro-Orange County's anti-growth m.o. is Chatham County's gain. It will still increase traffic on adjacent Orange Country roads, draw business away from Orange Country stores, and siphon sales tax dollars off to a neighboring county's coffers.

Yes, but the county could definitely support another one. Most Chapel Hill/Carrboro residents are not going to Hillsborough to shop. We shall soon see how many of them are going across the county line to go to the new, closer one.

Kinda depends which end of Chapel Hill you live in. From the north side, Hillsborough Walmart is just up 86 a few miles and most would avoid the long ride through or around campus to head to the south side 15/501 Walmart. But people in Southern Village will sure be happy....
