I can't reach with the equipment I have and do not want to rent or purchase an extension ladder.
I also don't want to climb an extension ladder.
I called the guy we use for gutter cleaning, but would love to hear any other suggestions. Who can I call?

Do you not have any neighbors? Jobs like this are exactly what neighbors are for! (unless you are male. LOL)

How high are they? Any hardware store should sell a tool to allow you to reach the bulbs. Amazon.com: Unger #92132 Flood Light Bulb Changer: Home Improvement Use this and attach it to a pole. They also make ones with the tool and pole built together, it just grabs the bulb differently.

A) I am male
B) I already bought the bulb changing kit and used a longer pole than the one that comes with it while standing on the largest ladder I own, an 8 foot stepladder.

It sounds like your only option is to buy another longer pole, get a longer ladder, or hire someone to do it. I don't mind an extension ladder as long as someone holds it, and the ground is level.

Buying a good ladder also helps. A nice Type 1 or 1A fiberglass ladder is expensive. But so much nicer than looking down and seeing the curvature of the a cheapo light duty aluminum under you.

Can you also stand in the bed of a truck or on a tailgate to gain a couple feet? Does a neighbor have a tall ladder?

I had to do something like this once with those little tube lights (500W) and ended up using an electrician after I found a couple extra things to make it more worthwhile.

Pay someone like your gutter cleaners to do it!

That way, you don't break your neck and your wife doesn't have to stay home to take care of you when she'd rather be working!

Oh wait. That is what I told my hubby!!!

The last time they needed changing, we did it along with gutter cleaning, so we had those guys handle it for us.
