Does anyone live in the Mcgee's Crossroads area? Can you tell me about how long it would take to get from there to the downtown Raleigh area? I'm not talking mapquest average but more like real time drive.. Thanks!

I'm a hair closer than McGees (I'm in the Cleveland School area), and barring more than usual traffic problems, it takes me around 40-45 minutes to make it to downtown and park my car (I work 8:30 - 5:30). If I ahd to be at work earlier, it would take me longer because of traffic backups at the 70 Bypass. Depending on where in McGees you come, what time you leave in the AM, and if you take I40 or not, I'd say 50 minutes minimum.

Of course, this all goes out the window when the Crawleigh road project starts in the spring (and runs for 2 years)!!!!!

I live in McGee's and drive 40 to just outside downtown daily (I can see downtown from my work) and it takes me on average 30 minutes.

OK that is what we thought...someone was trying to tell us 20 minutes. And actually the downtown location is North Hills area. So the 40 minute average sounds more accurate. Thanks for the input!!
