I have watched it three days in a row. Misspelled words up on the screen. The news anchors mispronouncing names. How could you not know that racist is not spelled racisit.? Terrible.

Tech personnel are responsible for the words on the screen most of the time, and techies generally are awful spellers, no matter where they work.

There are some new staff members at ABC 11, and of course, new people always mispronounce words.

This has been a regular occurrence on the bottom ticker on Fox News for approximately 3 years!

Whoever works there can't use a space bar!

I saw that. So being able to spell was not a requirement for the new hires.

apparently spelling and proper grammar and sentence structure went out the window for our society in general a long time ago. Those of us who were taught those things in school are constantly dismayed. My Phd son can't spell worth a hoot but he says as long as he has spellcheck it is OK. I don't agree.

I agree with you!

The News & Observer drives me nuts with common typos and spelling errors even on the front page! The times are changing rapidly in terms of what society values in this skill area. These skills are no longer of value in many places and jobs.

That slam makes no sense. The new staffers are from out of town. And Wake is a good school system.
