Hey all. Been thinking of joining a gym lately and wondered if you had any idea of the average cost of membership in the area. Specifically looking at downtown Raleigh, but I figure memberships are comparable.
I don't require a lot of frills, since I mostly work with free weights, if that makes a difference. I suppose some amenities wouldn't hurt, though.
You should be able to get in somewhere for 20 a month with 50 or less as the initiation.
Really? Where? I looked around about 6 months ago and it was hard to find something less than $40/month. But then again, I was only looking at clubs between my home and office (i.e., Cary and Morrisville).
Thanks y'all. I have a trainer right now who runs a gym but he wants to charge $150 per month for "unlimited" access. I like him, but I'm not feeling it. I was ok with higher cost while under the personal trainer, but now that I'll be going solo, I think it's far too exorbitant. Fitness is important to me, but so is financial solvency.
Yeah, I don't know what you get for $150, but if that doesn't include a personal trainer that sounds steep. On the flip side, I don't think much of places that charge just $10-15 a month as it is hard to keep the doors open unless the have high volume, which I don't care for.
