I'd be aware of the flight patterns and traffic, but unless you are within the runway path by a couple miles, planes are largely not an issue. There are certainly places I wouldn't live though as the panes are almost literally overhead and LOUD.

This might help - RDU GIS Flight Path Help

- I would say anything outside the yellow area pretty much equals "you'd never know there were any planes".
- The lightest yellow would = the occasional plane you'd notice. OP, you won't have to worry about plane noise imo.
- The next darkest yellow and further in - you'll notice planes regularly.

All this said - I think the area of N Raleigh you are looking at is great - wooded and low density yet close to everything.

Looking at Sayantsi's map, which I marked up rather crudely...

"1" is the approximate location of Carolina Arbors. I think Andrews Chapel Road, Cozart Rd, and ACC Blvd extensions are all to the west of the disclosure zone. You likely will have an occasional plane overhead. But, you appear to be outside of the disclosure zones.
"2" is approximate location of Preston Village. A bit different situation.

I think Carolina Arbors will be comparable to PV, Cameron Village, Preston etc...
I will tell you that you will get used to the noise. On average, I probably notice the noise a couple of times per week.
On a positive note, if you travel, getting to and from the airport is a breeze!
