Whoa! Calm down, guy!! You are wayyyy out of control.
Thank you for your understanding and your comment. I do not understand how this became so mean spirited towards me.
I'm not against any renovations of the Wake Forest library. All I asked (and never received) for was a close and possible reopen date. As I said before, I came here as a last resort to ask if anyone had heard anything.
I've very aware of the wake.gov sites and how to go about contacting "the important people in charge." Already been there and done that with no answers so I thought I'd ask here. Asking here was a mistake I realize that now.
When the Apex branch closed a few years ago for the summer to remodel they offered unlimited checkouts with no due dates (until they reopened). I was able to stock up on enough books to last through the summer.

Smart thinking on their part; fewer books to move.
I emailed the Friends of the Wake Forest Library and didn't get an answer, so I guess not. Although if they are closing for renovation, it might be a chance to score some books you wouldn't have to take back for a while.

According to the head librarian, the library will close at the end of the day on March 23 for about two months for renovation. All of the books will be moved elsewhere. Contractors will paint and add new carpet and furniture, but the building will not be expanded. They hope to reopen by the end of May, but it could be June before everything is ready. In the meantime, we will have to use one of the other branches.

Hope this answers your questions.
Thank you very much for sharing this!
The renovation is wonderful and I was never against it.
I think more advance warning that the library would indeed be closing for several months would have been more fair to the patrons.
We will not be given an opportunity for a book mobile or any other type of satellite location for books or media resources. Driving into Raleigh is not an option for everyone. As taxpayers whether you use the library or not it's still your money being used.
Again, thank you for finally sharing a closing and possible reopen date as well as the status on where to obtain books during the renovation. It confirms what I was told in the original post that I made which started this entire thread.
