We are looking for reasonably priced newborn girl items and have found Craigslist to be a bit frustrating.
Any good consignment stores or thrift stores with a big selection in the area? We would like a bassinet, swing, bouncy chair, towels and blankets and other stuff.
We're in Wake Forest. Thanks!

Did you happen to know there is a consignment sale going on in Morrisville this weekend?? Kids Everywear Consignment. This weekend is their sale days (50%, 75%). I went to a different consignment sale a week or so ago and they had TONS left on their sale day. You should have no problem finding the things you need if you check out one or more consignment sales! And they have a wide range of new to well used products as well.

Raleigh Kids Exchange
These consignment sales are held at the fairground and just had one last week. The next one isn't until July.

I know of at least one thrift shop that doesn't sell baby equipment because they don't want to keep up with recalled items and don't want to be liable.

Yeah the consignment sales are your best bet. That's where we've bought almost all of our baby goods. WRAL lists them all. Garage sales that say they'll be selling baby stuff are also good, especially for clothes. But keep in mind if you haven't had a baby shower yet you'll get TONS of clothes, especially NB and 0-3 month stuff. We haven't had to buy a single outfit yet for our newborn. Can't wait until she will wear what *I* want her wearing lol.

Anyway, WRAL lists all the area consignment sales: Triangle, Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill, Fayetteville children's consignment sales :: WRAL.com

The Red Hen at University Mall in Chapel Hill is quite good. We stop in often and almost always find something there. If you're looking for an item in particular, they'll take down your name and give you a call if and when it comes in.

I appreciate the ideas. The WRAL list is helpful and so are the other recommendations. I went to the Raleigh 'Once Upon a Time' and got some good deals. Looking forward to trying the others. Thanks again!
