Hi, I'm a pet sitter in Durham and would definitely recommend using one if you feel it is right for you. Your dog can stay in the comfort of their own home and maintain their routine. Just make sure the sitter is insured and has several references you can call. And of course watch them interact with your dog. Make sure they are comfortable and a good fit. Someone mentioned a sitter sleeps in the dogs' bed. I actually have a client whose Weimaraner slept in the bed with me. He sure did keep me warm!

If you want to stay with the kennel route then I have heard Camp Bow Wow is pretty great. I cannot comment from personal experience though since I have never used a kennel. Good luck!
