Hi, I find myself suddenly in a very complicated issue with my parent's house - she lives in NY; I'm here - I wonder if you have a recommendation for an estate planning attorney? Ideal would be if that person is licensed to practice both in NC and NY. For various reasons I do not want to take receivership of a revocable living trust. Greatly need advice - thanks.

I always recommend Carol Silverstein. She's great - done several things for me & family. Not sure if she is licensed in NY, though.

Ok - sorry I'm from Long Island.

I would call the county bar association for Syracuse...I think it's Onondaga County. They should be able to give you some names and then from there you can do some research on them and maybe find some reviews.

A lot of NY attorneys are licensed in NJ, MA, FL and D.C. - I don't think you will find many with a dual NY/NC license.

Thanks skaternum.

I'm hoping that with so many transplants I can find someone licensed in both (but hopefully located here, it's just easier for me).

Will contact Carol Silverstein as a first step!
