We are looking for a nice place to have a late lunch. Nothing too fancy or expensive, but we want it to be nice, sit down, served meal. Sandwiches, soups, and salads would be nice. Would like it to be near the interesting areas/streets of Durham.

Quick replies of your favorites are needed. . . . and. . . . GO! Thanks!

Hmmmmm... How about Old Havana Sandwich Shop? It's a wonderful and fairly new little fun, casual Cuban sandwich place in a neat old re-purposed building on Main Street. I love that place. It's an easy three or four block walk from the American Tobacco campus area, and takes you towards downtown Durham, which is itself very nice and quite interesting.

I also really like Toast (also on Main Street, but in the other direction, slightly further from American Tobacco), but I believe they close shortly after the main lunch rush, so you may not be able to do a "late lunch" there, depending on exactly how late it'd be. And Toast also doesn't do table service, although it's such a small and cozy place that it's not a significant inconvenience, and the food, atmosphere, and value for the money are so awesome that it's worth it.

Tyler's at the ATC might be a good choice. Locations/Durham - Tyler's Restaurant & Taproom Good beers too if you're in the mood. It's a sandwich, burger, salad kinda place. Beware, the garlic fries are great, but REALLY garlicky!
