Hey everyone, it has been awhile. Work is definitely crazy but I am so thankful that I found a job that I really enjoy. I am looking for a recommendation for a tax accountant to do my taxes this year. My husband's moved out of the country, so he is not available. I don't really want to use the person that I used in Arizona, now that I am here in NC. Feel free to either post here or DM me. Thanks

I recently posted the same request, and did not get any answers. I specifically said that I did not want to use TurboTax or another online service because my return was complicated.

A friend pointed out that you don't pay for turbotax until you file, so there was really no risk in seeing if they were easy or if they met my needs. I gave it a try, decided it was so strait forward that I had no concerns, got a MUCH larger refund than expected, and had it filed and have already recieved state and federal refund.

I KNOW IT IS NOT WHAT YOU ASKED (but having been in the same situation, I am replying anyway), but my may want to try turbotax. No charge unless you file. You can have it all done in a couple hours, and next year will be even easier.

Hope that helps. (If not, maybe my reply will drum up enough controversy to get you the answer you really want...)

We have been very happy with Langdon and Company in Garner. I don't know about your situation but we own a small business so they do our Corporate Returns and our personal ones. Tony Pandiscia and Brittany Craig are the main CPAs I deal with about tax issues. Tony is a lawyer and a CPA so he is really educated about tax laws.
Good luck!

Find an independent person with references. The chains like H&R Block, Liberty etc hire barley qualified people and charge way too much.

Thanks for the replies, we don't own businesses or anything that is so complex. I have been looking into Turbotax also. I have used a mom and pop business for many years but with moving, want someone more local. I used HR Block once and was very disappointed in them.
