Maybe Cary is the new Oxnard?

No! We're talking Oxnard...in the onion fields!" I've driven around Oxnard before and it's so true. Most of it is just boring farm land and then you get to the west side of town and it's beautiful sandy beaches and the Pacific ocean. Sorry to say I never made it Toby Keith's place while I was there, but I did squeeze in a round of golf at Olivas Links paired up with a couple of salty old locals whose company was more than worth the price of the round.

Thought I saw a sign for Another Broken Egg when I was at Brixx on Saturday.

That place will be a pain in the neck to access until Little Drive is connected to O'Kelly Chapel Road and the segments of Louis Stephens Drive are connected to each other. The developers will probably have trouble leasing their space until those connections are made. 2019 is the current line on the completion date.

Well, for all the people on the west side of 55 it won't change much, but definitely for Morrisville residents it will be quite a bit easier.

Yeah, agreed that Amberly & co aren't affected, but for now basically half of Parkside's catchment area is cut off, hence the leasing difficulties.

Waiting for this area to have a more inviting feel to it... Not sure what my issue is but we still drive to Apex or Stone Creek instead, even though the distance is about the same for us.

Probably partly due to there not being much small-retail yet in the "walkable" portion. It just always feels "dead" when I'm over there. It would have really helped them if they interspersed residential in the center instead of shoving it to the far side. Sort of how Park West now has residential smack dab in the middle of their "District" area.

I really don't understand why they put those apartments so damn far away from everything. You've got your residential as far as possible away from the grocery store and that grocery store is across the street from a major road. Whomever designed this thing needs a smack upside the head.

I agree. The layout seems strange. Even if they had switched the Target location with the Field and Stream, it would have driven more business to the apartment side of the complex (also would have made it easier for apartment dwellers to walk to get groceries).
