Awesome, congratulations!!! Watching bluebirds raise their babies is so much fun! I've been waiting and watching, but I think a chickadee has started a nest in our BB box. I like them, too, but I'm disappointed because the bluebirds had been checking it out for a couple of months now.
We got something else besides a bluebird nesting in ours too. Not sure what it is though. It is actually blue but it's not an eastern NC bluebird (pictured above) and it's not a blue jay either...hmmm...off to google! They took over the box last year too.
I put up a new bluebird compartment down at the beach this morning and by the time I walked up on the screen porch and sat down a pair were sitting on top of it...honest to goodness

Lamishra, I'm very curious to know what other blue bird could be nesting in your box--the only thing I can think of is a tree swallow. Did you figure out what it is?
We had a mom and baby flying squirrels in bluebird house one year!
