My husband wanted to know if anyone knows of any local stores that sell capris for men?

On a more serious note, look for "clamdigger shorts" at beachwear apparel shops.

Don't tell him as he really shouldn't wear them

Absolutely NOT!

I realize that they aren't as common in this area, so that's why he's asking. They are quite popular in the northeast where he's from. The ones that I see online are a little more feminine looking that come to the knee. He prefers the ones that come mid shin and slightly above the ankle. Most of them are usually denim.

Here's a bit of context for you: My husband is Muslim and could care less about the fashion trends of the day. They are popular with some Muslim men because the style is in accordance with the legal rulings for men's lower garments.

We wore those in late 1950's and early 1960's. They were called Calypso Pants. They came in white, navy, or red with pin stripes up the leg. A white rope belt was included with each pair. I wore them well

Many "outdoor" and "yoga" brands sell capris for men, and many of them are appropriate for every day wear (i.e., not just for hiking & camping). I'd try Bertrand Townsend, Great Outdoor Provision Company, or REI. Not sure if they currently have any capri styles, but the kind of brands I'm thinking of are Prana, Patagonia, Mountain Hardware, etc. Also, these brands also make a lot of long pants that have buttons or straps where you can roll up the leg to make it capri-length.

And..... I'm a little surprised by everyone's reaction. I didn't know that men wearing capris was considered so unusual here, lol! A decent pair of khaki capris can look a lot more polished and manly than many of the dorky cargo shorts I see guys wearing! Fit guy, bit of a tan, brown capris or rolled up pants and a white shirt? Can't go wrong, NC beaches are missing out!

I bought some capris in Curacao and only realized after the size seemed way too big that they were men's. It's in style there, but my husband refuses to wear them here (since they fit him and not me) .

Anyway, I would look online. You can find anything online!
