questions for bird enthusiasts (Durham: rating, area, location)

I need to photograph a Wigeon for a project. Does anyone know if there is a location in the triangle where they might be found?
I'm also interested in bird counting projects- are there any in the area? -Durham in particular?

When they're migrating you can sometimes see them at Falls Lake.
