Does anyone know about Park Devereux? Looks like we'll be getting a decent deal. How are the units in this building?

I have friends in that building and they like it. They are a 30 something married couple who are both professionals.
The building isn't squeaky new and original units can be dated. Other units are updated. It all depends on the particular unit. There aren't any amenities in that building so that could be a reason for the good deal. Depending on whether you face east or west could make a difference in your noise levels. The west side faces bars and the warehouse district. The east side faces a busy street but also a lovely park/square. My friends face the park and enjoy living there. They own and bought a "fixer" and cleaned it up after years of being abused by renters. One downsides is that Park Devereux units don't have terraces.

Some other condos to consider rentals:
-The Paramount - newer property. full amenities including garage parking, gym, pool, community room. each unit has a terrace.
-222 Glenwood- same as above but also directly on Glenwood Ave. This could be noisier at night.
-510 Glenwood - mixed used building with restaurants at the base, offices in the middle and condos at top. Nice large units but no pool, etc.

St. Mary's Square apartments are going to open soon on the western edge of Glenwood South toward Cameron Village. Apartments in Glenwood South Raleigh | St. Mary's Square Raleigh, NC 27605

Thank you so much for the invaluable info! We definitely would love some amenities (like a club room & gym - none of which Park Devereux has) but $1600 for a 2 bedroom downtown? I don't know how I'm gonna say no to that.

Thanks for the info on the other places as well!
