I'm curious if anyone has feedback or has had problems with Oberlin Road Animal Hospital? We've been going there for years but have felt on a number of occasions that we were being upsold - to the point that we dread taking our dog in for routine care or boarding b/c there are often extra (unexpected) charges or pressure to do something extra. Also, it seems like the last couple of times we've boarded our dog, he has gotten sick shortly thereafter with terrible diarrhea (apologies for the unpleasant lunch time visual!)

The other issue is their pricing seems high. Boarding is $30/night and then an extra $13/per each daycamp (45 min outdoor time w/ other dogs). I feel guilty leaving him for more than a day or two without giving him some extra playtime (so if you do both daycamps it's an extra $26/day) b/c otherwise they are walked 3x/day for potty breaks and the rest of the time in a cage. I know, that's boarding for you but I'm just curious if this seems high or is just the going rate.

I think that's about the going rate compared with the vets I've seen. That doesn't mean it might not be cheaper in other areas of the Triangle. We take our guyfor puppy playday nowandthen and that's $25 just for the day. I also dread whenever we have to go to the vet... there's always a med test, a prescription or whatnot and everything has skyrocketed in the last five years or so.

Try Magnolia Animal Hospital. Dr. Jon is reasonable and has served us 15 years.
