We are thinking of buying a home in the Churton Grove community and are interested in any input. Do families seem to like living there? What are the negative aspects? It looks like our children would attend Cameron Park Elementary - any opinions about the school?

I've read through the other threads about Churton Grove but they are all from a few years ago so was hoping for some current info.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and comment.

I don't live there, but we looked at it, too. It looks like a very nice neighborhood. When we went there, lots of kids were playing outside and people waved to us. One thing that you might want to look at is there are some high-powered lines (I think near the newest part of the development), so you might want to avoid that. I don't know much about the schools. Good luck and let us know if you end up moving there!

It is a very nice neighborhood, club house, walking trails and pool. Lots of kids. Solid neighborhood with good people not stuck behind doors. The neighborhood has been built out, which means no more new houses. This could make values increase. County taxes, but in Hillsborough zip code. That means you pay double for water than town residents, but I guess it is off set with no city tax. Districted (right now) for Cameron Park, CW Stanford and Orange High. Cameron Park has a strong parent base, which is always good. Older school, but dedicated and long term staff. Little turnover, which is always a good sign. If you are a ways off from middle and high school, not necessary to comment now. Too much changes. Good luck!

Thanks! We are also considering Hillsborough Elementary so any input on that vs. Cameron Park would be great as well.

This forum is such a great resource - thanks to everyone who contributes.
