advertisement by Crossroads Ford tonight? They were advertising a Ford Freestar SEL (leather seats, etc.) for $16,990~. I am seriously pondering whether I should go test drive one. I know the stigma behind a Ford. I have owned a few and currently own one.

Would like to know if any other Raleigh (or surrounding area) resident has been there and looked at this particular deal?

Three Fords at my house.

I know the stigma, too.

162,000 miles on the truck, and it is ready for another 100,000.

Love my Edge.

Wife likes her Focus.

Consumer Reports today again said that Ford Reliability is gaining, has gained, significant ground.
Rates the Fusion as one of the most reliable models in its class.

I thought about the Freestar, and decided to go with the Edge for the 6 speed transmission.
Of course, I didn't see a $16,000 deal...

Default I am going to call Crossroads and see what they say

I will keep everyone posted. You have to admit it. If we can find an SEL Freestar that is new for $16,990, we better buy it!

Ford is discontinuing Freestars at the end of the year. They will be concentrating solely on cross vehicles (i.e., Edge). I believe this to be a huge mistake! All of their cross vehicles are too pricy.

If they are discontinuing the model, that may not be good for resale value....something to consider anyway. Sounds like a great deal though!
American cars in general have a bad rep, but it is based on 20 years ago imo. They have come along way in quality.

Default ok everyone, the real deal is...

Cross Roads Ford scammed us with the TV advertisement yesterday. He stated that you could buy the 07 SEL Freestars for $16990. It was a "red" used one with 21,500 miles. They discounted it by $2K.

The Ford Freestars are being discontinued. Most dealers have sold all their '07 inventory. Cross Roads and Capital Ford both have sold out of all their '07 Freestars.

If anyone can find a '07 Freestar "new" let me no asap. They have a huge discount and they were made to last!
