quick relocation to RTP (Raleigh, Durham: leasing, houses, cost)

Hi all,

I am planning for my family and I to relocate to the RTP in the next month or so. I have already made several trips to 'scope' the area and am interested in rental properties (preferably a home w/ PRIVATE owner).

I am looking for housing in Durham or Raleigh on the busline (just in case) more so than anywhere else for a pretty low maximum monthly cost (>$800). A short term lease option would be lovely as that would allow for me to look for something else as we get settled. As a single mother of 4, if there is something in a lower range, that would help also.

If someone knows of something that I may be interested in, I would appreciate it if you'd let me know. I plan to make a trip after the 20th to actually check out places in which I'm interested in renting. The last time I went down I found that the turn-around time from application to leasing was approxiamately 24-48 hours.

All help is wanted as it is imperative that I move within the next 30 to 45 days.

Do you have a job in the area yet? I am asking this because our bus system is not like a big city. Sending me some more information and I'll see what I can find for you.

Houses run much higher than apts, both in rent and in deposits.
