My internet speeds are just awful. Did major map updates on my Garmin that took hours--the download speeds were pitifully slow and varied greatly. Why do I have so much flux in the TWC connection?

Have had problems all day, which is tough because I use the Net in my work. Stupid Internets.

Anyone having internet issues the past couple of days with TWC? If so, is it only when you are wireless or are you also have service interruptions when you are plugged into the modem. TWC is my least favorite internet company but the past two days have been the worst I have experienced with them.

If your problems are only on wireless, then TWC isn't the source of the problem.

I've had TWC Internet for years in both Raleigh and Chapel Hill, and have rarely had issues.

I get an outtage between ~2pm to ~3pm daily (though I had one a few days ago at 11:30am), lasting about 30 minutes each time (though this has lasted 1-2 hours before). Rest of the day is flawless. I've been experiencing this for about 2 months.

Modem lights just keep cycling, I never have to do anything. It comes back eventually if you wait long enough. The modem (Motorola SB6121 I think? A TWC recommended one) is only a few months old.

Not sure what to do...

I definitely recommend switching to openDNS (mentioned earlier in the thread) - I've had no outage issues since shortly after I did.

I dunno, but we dropped TWC cause we were paying over 200 per month and we don't even watch TV, so we went with Century Link, who doesnt even have the cable/fiber out here (Flowers Plantation), but we just wanted phone/internet. We have the super slow, probably DSL, but believe it or not, it's just as fast, with hardly any disconnects, than the super duper pay-out-your-azz TWC internet we had before. We pay like 20 bucks v. the 40 or 50 we paid the rip off artists at TWC
