Just moved to Wake Forest from NJ it's been great so far. Only thing that is bothering me is that I can't find a church...HELP!!! I was going to an independent fundamental Baptist church back in Jersey and I know there aren't many here. So I was wondering if someone can tell me what Baptist churches are around. And yes I know there is one on every corner I look... Also I'd like one that has great childrens programs. I have visited a few but I don't feel like I could calls those my home. Thanks to anyone that can help......
Providence Baptist is one of the larger Baptist churches in the area. I've visited a couple of times and have a friend who recently started attending there. He loves it. They have a lot of programming for children, youth, career, singles, families, you name it. It's in Raleigh.
We attended Providence for about a year and it is an excellent church. The children's church was terrific, the pastor is great and the music was wonderful. I think average attendance is around 2600. We switched to Colonial Baptist in Cary which was more convenient for us, but probably not for you. Another great church with a very strong pastor.

Hi - where is Providence, please?
For the poster, there's Faith Baptist just over the Wake County line in Youngsville. It is a *very* large church, seems dynamic and very active for all ages. I visited a couple of times but didn't get a good feel for it since one day was missions Sunday and the other was dedication of some 13 or 15 babies. I said it is a large church. Personally, I would feel lost in such a large church (been there, done that in another state) but the place was packed with happy, lively kids of all ages, and it might work well for you.

6339 Glenwood Ave in Raleigh sort of near Crabtree Valley Mall. The website is pray.org. Large churches aren't for everyone, but for some people the small groups within large churches make them work.
You can give St. Catherine's a try. They have their own school and pre school programs, very family oriented and always looking for new friends to share our Christian faith.
Since you're in WF, I'd recommend checking out WF Presbyterian Church on Hwy 1 just north of 98. Slightly different flavor of Protestant Christianity than an independent fundamental Baptist church, but may be worth a shot. Its a growing church with TONS of kids and always has something going on. The senior paster is from NJ and is a top notch guy!

There are too many churches in raleigh! What are you talking about? Everywhere I drove there was a church.
