So I was mowing the yard on Sunday and a rock was flung and hit a window on the house. As a result the glass was fractured. My windows are double pane so only the exterior was damaged. My home is rather new built in 2009 so this is my first home repair. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and who would you recommend for repair in the Durham area? I called my insurance company to get this moving.

Thanks!

Don't file an insurance claim for small losses. It can get you non-renewed,

My landlord uses Glass Doctor for double pane windows.

I always use Rice's Glass in Carrborro. No one better in the area.
Is it a fixed window? Or a double Hung? Casement?

I have used Jacobs in Durham for a regular piece of glass. But always use Rice's for double pane.

You will save a few bucks if you can pop the sash free and bring it to the glass place. They may even have it back the same day.

Or they can come out measure and come back out again to install. Someone pays for all that gas!
