Thanks everyone !!

I don't really want to join Sams, Costco or BJ's. I used to stock up on food but now with
one to feed I like to just buy small quantities.

I will try Target, Fresh Market & Whole Foods !!

I have heard about mami nora's and want to try there for a meal, but I think they are pricey for a whole chicken.

Reconsidering the Costco membership.

Even if I just use it for toiletries, cleaning suppies, paper products & Rottiseri chicken I would probably
justify the membership fee..The website said they will refund it if not satisfied, so if I decide I don't like
the chicken or think the membership isn't worth it I can get a refund.

If you buy coffee, wine, one major appliance, electronic equipment, rent a car (really -you can't beat their rates), or want a hot dog for lunch, the membership will pay for itself. Some of the clothes are also good deals.

Paper products, shampoos, toothpaste, etc. can often be had at better prices when on sale and with a coupon.

I actually like the rotisserie chicken from Food Lion (I usually get it at the store on New Bern and S.Rogers Ln). Tried Whole Foods (in Cary) two times but both times it seemed undercooked and bland to me. Didn't care for it and it was more expensive (although cheaper on Fridays, I believe). Unfortunately, there is no SuperTarget or Fresh Market near my commute path.

The size of the birds at Boston Market is ridiculous now, not to mention "family" sides that are barely enough for two. We hardly ever go there anymore. Really sad, it used to be one of our favorites.

Mami Nora's is the BEST rotisserie - the flavor can't be beat! The $14.50 price includes 2 large sides but you can order just a chicken - it is pricier but you can definitely tell in the flavor. I think just a chicken is perhaps $8.50? Can't quite remember and it isn't listed separately on the menu but is available.

Go sometime for lunch or dinner and order a quarter chicken meal to get a taste of the chicken and sides. It blows away Boston Market, Costco, Whole Foods, etc. We pretty eat it once a week. After 10 orders, you get 1 free.

Getting off the Mami Nora's soapbox but now I'm hungry!

Ah, now you've gone and encouraged me. A few of my other favorite Costco finds:

Diet Kirkland brand green tea in plastic bottles
Telecherry black peppercorns in the grinder (dirt cheap given the quality and freshness and the grinder)
Olay products - if you like them and will accept larger size packaging, the prices are great
Lamb from the fresh meat counters - you won't find this quality at anywhere near this price someplace else

I get mine from Lowe's Foods. It's more expensive than Wal-Mart and Target but the quality is better. I have not tried any others, but am extremely happy with the plain chicken at Lowe's. They have an herb flavored and lemon IIRC and I did not care for it.
