I am thinking of dropping cable and going Internet only (stream Hulu plus etc) and wondered if any of you would share what you are paying. I know I will need to get at least the turbo level in order to stream, and I do want the WiFi. I want to be armed with as much info as possible before I call them. Thanks!

Are you sure of that? I have TWC Basic, which I believe is 3MBS up, and I run netflix on it fine. It takes about a minute or two to load a full length movie, and 90% of the time, there is no problem. (Sometimes, if internet is slow it will reboot, but it is VERY rare, and usually at peak hours.)
I pay $24 and change after all the upcharges and ghost-fees. (which includes Modem Rental, and also is "no contract".)

Only the Turbo and higher plans (15Mbps down) have anything higher than 1Mbps upstream. If you have TWC Basic you have 1Mbps uplink.
I've been on the Earthlink 15.0mbps cable plan for over 10 years now. $42 per month. It's plenty fast for streaming --- I haven't had cable TV for about 6 or 7 years now.
I'm sure he means load for streaming, not download the full movie.
Correct! (Netflix Streaming, to be specific)
And I'm not sure of my speed, but I do recall they recently doubled it without upcharge. Easy to remember. (TWC doing something customer-friendly left a mark on me...)

I have the same TWC Basic for $24 and exactly the same comment about streaming.
Rarely a problem...
I used to get "upload" & "download" mixed up until someone told me to imagine the
internet up in the sky. I am loading "up" to it or "down" from it to my computer.
I know it can also involve other devices but it helped me keep it straight.
I did this exact thing a few months ago: turned off cable with TWC and ramped up my internet speed for streaming. I am now at Turbo, but previously I had constant issues watching a movie. Turbo seems to have fixed that. I'm paying $52 a month, but that includes my landline.
I have Netflix, HuluPlus and Amazon Prime, via ROKU (which has lots of additional programming which I enjoy that is free). Of these, I probably watch Hulu the least.
