I had the opportunity to have a Monday off and get down to Jordan Lake to go swimming (Seaforth), and loved that there were people there but it wasn't just packed and it was a good place to relax and have some good mental health time. I was thinking about going again soon, but know it will be jammed on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
I was thinking I could either get there fairly early (9 or so) on a Saturday morning or maybe even try to go one evening after work during the week (at about 6:30-7 since they're open until 9 during the summer) to break up the monotony of the work week. Can anyone tell me if those would be better times to avoid huge crowds and is Seaforth or one of the other areas quieter to just relax and have a stress reliever (because I love the sand beach and lake bottom unlike the much rockier, slimier clay lakes further west). I'm about an hour away, so I'd like to have an idea before I make the drive. Thanks!
So where is this place I love to find a swimming area ? Easy to find?
The Seaforth area that I'm familar with is just over the Jordan Lake bridge on Hwy. 64 between Pittsboro and Apex. If you were coming from Raleigh, it would be on the left just off Hwy. 64.
I used to fish lakes near charlotte. I would get there at 6:00 or 5:30 and pretty much be off by 9:00 when the crazies and their jet skis and boats got out. We used to say, "the cartoons were over" when we saw the jet ski crowd.
Good luck.
