We remodeled our kitchen using IKEA and have been really happy with it. We did the work ourselves. The feet on the cabinets are well designed and like feet on a stove or refrigerator they allow you to adjust each one to level the cabinets. The "toe kick" they sell is called "plinth". If you are really interested in IKEA check out the IKEAfans website. Wealth of info and practical tips there.
IKEA cabinets are installed differently than traditional cabinets. They have a steel rail that attaches to the wall studs and then the cabinets hook to the rail. It works great and is easier for the DIYer to work with. You level the rail first rather than trying to level the cabs at the same time you're hanging them.
