Bottom line you can't go wrong following Cary Native's advice. I know he has helped me a great deal with my lawn!

FWIW, my old fescue is still trucking! I will probably need to cut it a few more times before I can put the lawn mower away for the winter.
Please NRG don't drive by my house after we settle in a couple of weeks and take any pictures. If they sod and say water I will get permission and water. I don't want to become like a realtor in a housing market thread and find my self the target of.....................

I planted mid-Oct. It is Nov 6th tdy & my grass has grown exceedingly over the past 2 days & dont look for it to stop, @least not this week. Maybe it is this little rain that we are getting this weekend.

I don't know much about growing grass, but it seems to still be growing. It is beautiful & green & I hope it manages to stay that way for a few more weeks. I also hope that it makes it through the winter!! What do you guys think??

Good luck guys, I sure wish you all the best on growing your lawns.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman. [Think conditions may have been slightly different a decade ago when the original thread occurred. I too have had success growing grass this year after the September heat wave and drought ended].

I also reseeded my entire yard with fescue mid-october. It is coming in well but not sure that it is tall enough to do my first mower cut. Is it necessary to cut it in order to help it survive better in during the winter?

Ur right Robin!!! I misread the date. Conditions may have been different a decade ago, if you still believe in global warming. What a fuqnut!!! Thats why I never post in forums. Either nobody knows what they're talking about or the *¿@ holes come out of hiding to insult anyone they can. I'm certain I've better things to do than cruise threads for people to make fun of!!!

Sorry Robin. I'll stay off of these forums featuring liberal types & Clinton voters
