This isn't the "where can I find a cheap venue" post, we're looking for a cool venue for a wedding in the Raleigh area for Spring/Summer of 2014. I recently had a friend who did the coolest barn wedding, and I loved that idea, but I don't want to totally steal her wedding. So something like that, unique, and with the capabilities of holding 150 people would be fab. Any cool ideas?
Angus barn has a building on a little pond at the back of the parkinglot, I had no idea it was there! I attended a wedding there last year and it was beautiful. They got married right there on the pond w/ candles and twinkle-lights....really beautiful.
One of the coolest weddings I've been to was at the Museum of Natural History. The dance floor was the dinosaur atrium!
Another cool place would be the Contemporary Art Museum. Or the amphitheater at NCMA. Some other friends got married at The Stockroom in downtown Raleigh and that was pretty cool, too!
North Carolina Museum of Art, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Contemporary Art Museum, Solas, Marbles Museum, Stockroom, Cobbleston Hall. I've heard of place called Se7en located downtown but I have never been, might be worth looking into.

Reason: .
- General Aviation Terminal at the airport (pricey but a beautiful open space)
- Raleigh Rose Garden/Little Theater
- Artspace in Raleigh
- The AIA Center for Architecture and Design - very modern
- Warehouse type of space: Jibarra (downtown Raleigh), The Cotton Company (Wake Forest)
Good, good, good suggestions! For those of you who have attended some of these events, in particular the one at the Museum of Natural History and the Angus Barn, I will be DMing you - I'd love to hear a little more about these events and perhaps even see a picture!
