Hi guys,

I'll be relocating to the Raleigh area in the next couple of months from Charlotte, and I was hoping to get some suggestions on good neighborhoods to buy a house in.

I'm single, work from home, and my budget is in the $200-250k range. I'd like to be in reasonable commute distance to Raleigh (30min~), and in a quiet, safe, pet-friendly neighborhood.

I've been suggested Cary and Apex, and I'm leaning toward Apex. Does anyone have any insight? Any housing areas I should check out?

Thanks!

As far as I know, everywhere will be pet-friendly since you'll be an owner. We do have leash laws, FWIW.

when you say "within 30 mins of 'Raleigh'" do you mean downtown Raleigh? How do you define Raleigh?

What do you need in a home? What do you want? Lot size, beds/baths, age, garage, etc?

With a price range of $200,000 to $250,000, you'll have a decent amount of homes and neighborhoods to choose from in the Apex area. Of course, it will depend on what you are expecting for that price range.

Are you hoping to get something brand new? Or, would an older home in need of fixing up suit you better?

Can you live without a garage or is that important to you?

Is 3 bedrooms enough or do you need a 4th bedroom?

Give us some criteria and we can suggest neighborhoods.

Vicki

Hi guys thank for the replies!

To answer some of your quesitons:

* By 30min into Raleigh, I mean into South West Raleigh.
* I'd prefer a home that was built in the last 5 years.
* I would definitely need a garage. Would refer 2 car but 1 car would suffice with a drive way.
* 3 bedrooms 2 baths would definitely be enough. Anything more would be a bonus.
* I would definitely want a back yard as well, but it doesn't have to be huge.
* As for lot area, I'd prefer something in the 2000sqft range.

Thanks, I appreciate it!
