I used to host some watch parties for Oregon football games. There was lack of interest because we couldn't find a place that would show the game *and* turn the sound on. Maybe with Stanford playing there is more of a chance to find a place where you could see and hear the game? Does anyone know of a place that is likely to play the game with sound?

Good luck with that. West coast football fans are few and far between here. I am from California and it took me a while to realize that USC does not mean the University of Southern California.

well, it's the Thursday night game this week, so while there are a couple of other games on, I would imagine most sports bars would have it on.

how many patrons will you bring, in order to influence the given establishment to cater to your crowd?

Backyard Bistro will undoubtedly have the game on. Many of their tables still have some speakers that intermittently work. But their main system does, and they play the audio for a variety of teams.

I don't know who's playing NFL Thursday, but if it's not one of their regular fan groups, I would think they'd play the audio as well for you.

We've had 8 to 10 people come out. We've been through this before, trying to find a place that shows the game and let's us listen to the game. Folks got tired if they could only watch. Problem is some other game would be on the main TV and less important games on the other screens.

The Thursday night NFL game is Washington @ Minnesota. There are lots of Washington fans around here, so that might take precedent over the Oregon game.

The other NCAAF game is Oklahoma @ Baylor. While it is a top ten match-up, I wouldn't think it would draw more interest than Oregon @ Stanford, since they are both higher ranked.

You might need to call around. My bet would be the volume will be turned on for the NFL game at most places.

You may need to call ahead and ask. I would like to think the game would be featured at most places since it'll have direct effect on the national title race. But if a place thinks that Washington (are we still allowed to say their name ?) fans will be out in full force then they will take priority.
