A local group of Druids is looking for a location to hold their annual winter solstice ceremony. The ideal location would be outdoors, reasonably away from homes and curious onlookers, allow either a bonfire or use of a covered portable fire pit, and large enough to accommodate a group of about 30. The celebration is held at night, roughly 7 pm, and would last 1-2 hours.
Looking for something in either Raleigh (preferably) or Durham.
I would look at a state park, however, unless you are camping the park usually closes early.
+1 for this.
I've not done this, but it seems like you could: Have at least one person go down there and get a camping spot, so you have the group there late.
Make sure you check the fire regulations. Some let you use their fire-pit.
You could check with Snipes Farm Retreat and see if you could use their property for it. It's more Chapel Hill than Raleigh or Durham but it's a doable drive.

Would be a nice locale this time of the year, especially with the cold nights here. But I have to imagine the airfare would be cost prohibitive don't you think?
Re Hayes Barton - pretty sure the Baptists wouldn't go for that. But what about the grounds of one of the universal Unitarian churches? I'm fairly certain they're Druid-friendly. Maybe even one of your members attends one and could ask? My only other idea is someone's backyard. I'd let you use mine if it was big enough.
