I'm a Do-It-Yourself mechanic so have no personal recommendation. However, a close friend who prefers to have the professionals service his three vehicles has good things to say about Gaston's Garage. Home - Welcome to Gaston's Garage

Dealership service departments typically charge more than independent shops. Do not put much faith in their boasts of Factory Trained Mechanics. Their best technicians often get that training and then take better-paid jobs with independents. Consequently dealerships have a high personnel turnover.

I've been using Cricket for a few years and have been quite happy with them. They don't upsell you, which I love!

I concur regarding both Gaston's Garage in Apex and Frantz Automotive in Cary. I have given both of them plenty of business and they are both fair and competent. Good luck.

My family has been using Techni-quest on West Chatham in Cary for close to 23 years. Always good, keep us up to date, give excellent recommendations on what needs to be done, they've taken care of about a dozen cars for us in that time. No prblem recommending them to anybody else.

Same here. I used Frantz when I lived on that side of town. Now I am closer to Gaston's. They are not the cheapest, but I feel they are honest about what is needed/not needed. They saved me $$$ recently when an inspection place said my brakes were in "critical condition" and needed replacing immediately (which they did not). Gaston's offers discounts for AAA, teachers, etc.
